Amy Harrison to join Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Published Tuesday, August 27, 2019

Winnipeg South End United Soccer Club (WSEU) wishes to inform its players, coaches and families that our Director of High-Performance & Female Programs, Amy Harrison, has accepted an opportunity to take on a new challenge with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC as their Girls BMO Academy Centre head coach and Girls Elite REX assistant coach.

During her time with WSEU, Amy has made many valuable contributions as a team coach, technical trainer and coach educator. She focused on providing a well-organized and balanced path for high-performance programming and establishing a more visible emphasis on the growth of our female players and programs. Amy led our WSEU District Academy and acted as the organizer of our annual WSEU Soccer Challenge weekend while supporting the overall delivery of Club and District events throughout the year.

Our Technical Director, Hadyn Sloane-Seale, would like to acknowledge Amy’s contributions to WSEU during her time with us and states that; "It is never easy to see good, hardworking people leave your program, but I could not be happier for Amy and this opportunity that has presented itself to her.  I am excited to see her continue to grow as a coach and a person, and I wish her the best of luck in her new coaching adventure.  I know she will embrace the new challenge and bring a new perspective to the Whitecaps program.  Best of luck Amy!"

We wish Amy well as she joins the Whitecaps organization. Her last official day with WSEU will be August 30, 2019. We will miss Amy’s support for the players and her ideas to help grow our district and the game. We are happy to have played a part in supporting her soccer career development. Please take the opportunity during her last few days to wish Amy all the best in this next step of her career and for the future.

Moving forward, the WSEU Board will work with our staff to review plans for addressing the needs of our players and programs. An announcement will be forthcoming.

On behalf of the WSEU Board,

Dale Friesen, President

Amber Ostermann, Vice-President
