Are you interested in coaching at WSEU for the 2019 outdoor season?
If so, we’d like to hear from you before February 21, 2019.
WSEU is actively recruiting new coaches for our programs. There is a particular need for both female and male non-parent coaches with varying levels of qualifications and experience. While highly experienced and certified coaches are welcome, we are also willing and able to develop new coaches through mentorship and coach education.
If you would like to be considered for a coaching role for the outdoor 2019 season, please email the WSEU Technical Director (firstname.lastname@example.org) specifying the following:
- Age: U9 to U17 (birth years 2010 to 2002)
- Gender: Male/Female
- Level*: Developmental / Premier 1 / Premier 2
- Role: Head Coach/Assistant Coach
- NCCP Coach Education: Please list your current coach license level (e.g. C license) and/or all of the Community Coach courses you have achieved (i.e. Active Start, FUNdamentals, Learn to Train, Soccer for Life)
- Last team coached: Please list the last team you coached - Club or Community Centre, gender, and age
*Note: Premier begins at U13. The LTAD Developmental program runs for ages U9 to U12.
Submitting your request does not guarantee a coaching position or an age or gender request. All requests will be considered and vetted by the Technical Director prior to coaching selections. Further information may be requested by the Technical Director.
All coaches are subject to a mandatory Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry Screenings. Completion of the Respect in Sport online course is also mandatory. Note that re-certification is required if you took this course over 5 years ago. These steps are also required for assistant coaches and team officials, such as team managers.
If you have coached with WSEU in the past, the office will notify you if your checks and certification are up for renewal so that this can be completed prior to the start of the season. If you are a new coach, these checks are required prior to the start of the season.
Checks, screens and coach courses* are reimbursed by WSEU upon successful completion. WSEU also offers an in-house coach education program that includes on-field and in-class workshops and presentations, an online training curriculum and ongoing mentorship and supports.
Please review the WSEU Coaches Code of Conduct and Team Officials – Placement on a Team Roster policies.
Contact the WSEU office with questions.
We hope you will consider joining our dedicated, passionate and amazing group of volunteer coaches for 2019.
*Note that higher licensing levels include additional requirements prior to reimbursement.
