Do you want to be a referee?
Date: December 18, 2018 - April 30, 2019

The  Manitoba Soccer association, in preparation for the 2019 outdoor soccer season, is looking for suitable adults, young men and women to become  soccer referees. Applicants must be reliable, respectful, responsible, and able to work independently.  All candidates must turn 14 years of age prior to April 30, 2019 to register for the Entry Level Youth course.  Applicants who turn 12 prior to April 30, 2019  may register for the “small side” course to referee younger ages only.

There are 3 levels of Youth District courses available to interested applicants. The District Senior course, open to those individuals who turn 18 prior to April 30, 2019. Allows you to officiate all youth matches but also opens you to opportunities with the Men's and Women's leagues. This is an 18 hour course.

The Entry Level Youth course is open to individuals who turn 14 prior to April 30,2019. It consists of four(4) three and a half hour modules with a written exam at the end of Module 4. Once successfully completed, applicants will need to register as a District Youth Referee with Manitoba Soccer Association. Fee is $36. You will receive membership with both the M.S.A. and the Canadian Soccer Association. You will be eligible to referee any age group which you are two or more years of age older than.

  •    An individual who takes the entry level course may also referee small sided matches without having to take a small sided referee course.

The Small Side Course is open to individuals who turn 12 prior to April 30,2019 but not 14 prior to that date. It is a one day 6 hour course. Fee is approximately $30. No membership fee is charged after the clinic as small side referees are not recognized by the C.S.A.

 Registration links for specific clinics can be found beneath clinic dates  which will be found on the MSA page. The candidate will register and make payment directly to the MSA via the Goalline system for any particular course.

Upon completion of their online registration, participants will receive a confirmation e-mail that will include a link to download an electronic version of the FIFA Laws of the Game and a pre-course workbook as well as course information and instructions. A hard copy of the FIFA Laws of the Game will be provided to each participant at the first module of the clinic.

Winnipeg Region

In 2019, the MSA will host 4 Entry Level Clinics and 3 Small Side clinics in the Winnipeg Area. Individuals are eligible to sign up for any of the  clinics.
The cost of the each clinic will be $45.00 per participant(Entry level) and $30 (small side)
Registration will be done online using the Goalline system.
Each clinic will be limited to 25 participants.

Once successful participants have completed the course, they will need to complete their annual MSA Referee Registration ($36.00) prior to receiving game assignments.

NOTE: The district has no role nor participation in the registering, instructing or membership registration for any individual.
